“Miss A” is a tortoiseshell and white, long hair, rumpy, female Manx. As a kitten, Miss A strutted around like the world was her pearl and she was Miss America herself. As time went by the name stuck and she tries her best to live up to it. After a break from showing, she’s once again gracing the show halls with her presence. At her first show out she placed in 3 out of the six rings. In 2011 she became a Grand Champion! Miss America went to Rainbow Bridge, Summer of 2025. She lived to be 18yrs old and is missed.

“Cowboy” is a black and white (bicolor), long hair, rumpy riser, neutered, male Manx. He was a lot of fun to show. Cowboy achieved the title of Grand Premier at the Pawprints In The Sand cat show on February 2nd, 2008. Cowboy is a very special boy; he is very communicative through various looks and expressions he displays. He comes when he is called and is very sweet and lays on his back to beg for wet food. Despite his markings on his face, his name came from the cute pair of little cowboy chaps he has on his behind. He was granded in Premiership, then retired to a pet home.

“PJ” is a black and white, long hair (Cymric), rumpy, male. His sire is GC, MinusDeTails Nacho Ordinaire, his dam is MinusDeTails X’s and O’s. PJ came to us by Kay, Terry and Harley DeVilbiss formerly of MinusDeTails Cattery. PJ was registered with and shown in The Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) also by Karello Cattery. He was also registered with The International Cat Association (TICA). PJ was shown in both organizations by Kay and Terry DeVilbiss. He achieved many titles in both associations.
Show season 2006-2007 PJ was the best long hair Manx in the Nation in CFA. Karello Cattery added Regional Winner to his accomplishments when he was purchased for breeding. PJ was a delight to show. As a whole male he was easy going and didn’t display usual male behaviors .
PJ and his legacy are the cornerstone of the current lines we produce. His contribution to our lines are greatly appreciated and admired still in the kittens we produce today. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are still a part of Karello Cattery and it’s legacy. Thank you PJ for all you given to us, you’re not forgotten.

“Samson” is a cream classic tabby, long hair, dimple rumpy, neutered, male Manx. His sire is CH, Briar-Brae My Black Sambo, his dam is LaBearer’s Lady In Red. Samson was CFA’s 3rd Best Manx-Long Hair Division, nationally for show season 2002-2003. Also, Best of Breed-LH Division and Best of Color Manx-Long Hair Division in Great Lakes Region (4). During show season 2003-2004 Samson was CFA’s 2nd Best Manx-Long Hair Division nationally, BEST Long Hair Manx and BEST Cream Tabby Manx in Great Lakes Region (4) Show season (2004-2005) Samson had another wonderful year of showing adding Regional Winner to his list of titles. ~ OUTSTANDING!! ~ WAY TO GO SAMSON!!!~ * Special “thank you” to CFA Allbreed Judges Loretta Baugh and JoAnn Miksa-Blackwell for finaling Samson, giving him the last needed points for him to grand in Championship and Premiership, seeing in Samson what was always there a “Grand” cat! Samson made an appearance the end of show season (2006-2007). We were asked to see if he still enjoyed showing enough to participate in a Parade of Breeds at an upcoming show. Samson is retired now living with his owner Casey Joniello, his show days behind him. Sadly, we lost Samson in April of 2017. Casey and I are devastated at his loss but he lived a long, happy life til 15 1/2. He’s at Rainbow Bridge with his half-brother’s Sam, Sammy, Tugger and Yoda.
GC, GP, RW Karello’s Play It Again Sam’s
Grand Champion, Grand Premier, Regional Winner
One Show Grand 11/28/04
Sire: CH Briar-Brae My Black Sambo
Dam: DM LaBearer Red Hot Tumalle of Karello

“Sam” is a cream, classic tabby (circular lines) and white, short hair, dimple rumpy, male Manx. He is full brother, different litter to GC, RW Karello’s Sam’s I Am of Faerietail, CH, GP Karello’s Sam’s Bella Luna, GP Karello’s Sam’s Rum Tum Tugger and half-brother to GC, GP, RW Karello’s Sam’s Son. Sam was a “One Show Grand” at 8 1/2 months old in four rings at the Buffalo, N.Y. show finishing with 314 points. A one show grand and regional win is really something that is rare for the Manx breed at this age. Manx don’t usually mature completely until they’re two to three years old. Sam did very well showing as a kitten, he finished Kitten Class with 2059.20 points which earned him a 9th Best Kitten Regional Award in my region. Sam was a darling Manx, we adored each other. My dreams of him being a sire were easily put aside when he was spending more time away from me (due to spraying) and less time by my side. So, I neutered him, and were much happier. (I lost Sam January 9th, 2011 to saddle thrombosis, he will always be deeply missed.)
GP, Karello’s Sam’s Rum Tum Tugger
Grand Premier
Sire: CH Briar-Brae My Black Sambo
Dam: DM LaBearer Red Hot Tumalle of Karello
Granded 05/07/2005

“Tugger” is a red classic tabby and white, long hair, rumpy riser, neutered, Manx. Tugger is full brother, same litter to Sam above, half-brother to Samson above and full brother, different litter to Sammy below. He is a silly, sweet Manx fellow whom I made my lap kitty after he achieved his title of Grand Premier. Tugger is my all-time favorite Manx.
GP Karello’s Jedi Master Yoda
Grand Premier
Granded 08/09/03

“Yoda” is white with odd eyes, short hair, dimple rumpy, neuter Manx. His sire is CH, Briar-Brae My Black Sambo and his dam is Slieau’s Snow White of Karello. Yoda enjoyed showing in his younger years but found the breaks from showing were too difficult for him to get back into the swing of things. Yoda is a darling, sweet boy and is always by my side or on my lap. However, it is always on his terms, smart boy! With Sam gone, Yoda can be found on my lap or somewhere close by.

Our First Show Cats
GC, Karello Rolley Pulley

“Rolley” is a brown classic tabby, short hair (Manx), dimple rumpy, neutered male. Rolley’s sire is CH, Briar-Brae My Black Sambo and his dam is Briar-Brae Chi Chi of Karello. Rolley was Karello Cattery’s first show cat out of our own litter and our very first grand champion in CFA.

Rolley’s coat length and color were easy enough to groom. He enjoyed showing and the attention that came with it. But he did not like having his hair blown dry. OUCH! We managed to work through those early days and grand him but his show career wasn’t a long one. Rolley awaits us at Rainbow Bridge.
Karello’s Oliver Twist

Oliver was a very sweet boy and a joy to show. He was sweet and patient and enjoyed traveling.
CH, Briar-Brae My Black Sambo
“Sambo” or “Bo Bo” is a black with white lockets, short hair (Manx), rumpy hi-riser. Sambo was our very first show cat. Those days there was a lot going on and a lot to be learned about showing cats. Thank you Barbara and Sambo for your patience and contribution to the unforgettable experience and journey.
